Meet the Team

Joe serves as Managing Director at Detalus, an investment advisory firm based in St. Louis, Missouri. Joe has extensive board experience with both public and non-publicly held entities in both the financial services and commercial business sectors, during which he has served in a variety of capacities and participated in numerous committees, including as vice-chairman, and member or chair of the audit, compensation, credit, risk and ALCO committees.

Joe has been both advisor and principal in numerous acquisitions and sales of financial institutions and commercial companies. He has also been responsible for operations of various residential mortgage, commercial, and consumer lending and finance companies. His experience includes equity formation and investment, management of mergers and acquisitions, investment portfolios, sales and marketing activities, retail and commercial lending, management of troubled assets, asset recovery, commercial finance activities and finance activities for public companies.

Over the course of his career, Joe and his family have been involved in many non-profit causes supporting the St Louis community as supporter, sponsor, and in various governance capacities.

Jeff is committed to working alongside clients to help identify and achieve their financial goals. He conducts investment research while also serving on Detalus’ Investment Committee. In addition to his advisory-based roles, Jeff executes trades, maintains option orders, and monitors the overall client allocation process. He is dedicated to ensuring his clients feel confident and comfortable with their financial future. Prior to joining Detalus in 2013, Jeff worked at Edward Jones where he most recently served as an Equities Investment Specialist, primarily involved in conducting research and providing solutions to Financial Advisors. Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Missouri – Columbia.

Jeff is an active member of Marian Middle School’s Finance Committee. He also serves on the Kirkwood Civilian Pension Board. He spends his free time with his wife, Amy, and two little boys, Harrison and Hunter. Jeff can also be found on the golf course when time allows.

When asked his favorite thing about working at Detalus, Jeff responded that he enjoys “helping clients meet and plan for their financial goals, as well as seeing the difference he can make in their lives.”

At Detalus, Betsy lead’s the firm’s accounting process and supports compliance and other back-office efforts. She primarily focuses on financial reporting, strategic initiatives, project management, and overall firm compliance.

Joining Detalus in 2010, Betsy also worked with Boulevard Bank, marketing the bank’s retail products and consumer, business, and mortgage loans. Previously, Betsy was an Associate in Business Development and Operations at EIM Management (USA) Inc., a fund of hedge funds located in New York City. She began her career at BlackRock as an Analyst in Global Consultant Relations.

Betsy earned a Bachelor of Science degree, magna cum laude, in finance and accounting from the University of Dayton. She sits on the Board of Directors at Webster Child Care Center and previously sat on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee at Marian Middle School.

Betsy lives in Webster Groves with her husband Andy and their sons Johnny and Davis. Their family enjoys spending time outside, dining out locally, visiting the Botanical Gardens and Zoo, and spending time with extended family in St. Louis, Chicago, and Ohio.

Cheryl manages client investment portfolios, guiding individuals and their families through the many financial stages of their life cycles. She focuses on retirement planning and quarterbacking her clients’ wealth management teams. Cheryl began her career in banking and as a Vice President of Mark Twain Brokerage Services in the early 1980s. She joined A.G. Edwards & Sons in 1988 where she worked until joining Detalus in January 2009. Cheryl is an Investment Adviser Representative, holds the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor (CRPC®) designation, and is licensed in various areas of insurance.

For 28 years, Cheryl served on the YMCA of Greater St. Louis’ Board of Managers, International Committee, and Child Care Services Committee. She currently serves on the Advisory Board of Community Action Agency of St. Louis County (CAASTL) and was recently elected to serve on the Neighbors Credit Union Board of Directors.

Cheryl graduated cum laude from Washington University in St. Louis in 1981 and has been married to her husband Robert for 39 years. They have two children and two grandsons.

When asked about the best part of her career, Cheryl attributes the most satisfaction from the trusted relationships she has with her clients. Cheryl is dedicated to helping new and established clients grow their assets through proper planning and prudent investment management.

Joining Detalus in June 2024, Andrew serves as a Financial Advisor and provides client and firmwide support as the firm’s Client Relationship Manager. He began his career in public accounting in 2019 working at BKD and Anders, focusing on tax planning for businesses and individuals. Andrew transitioned into financial planning in June 2021 at his previous wealth management firm. Most recently serving as a Senior Client Service Manager, Andrew worked with advisors to create and implement comprehensive financial plans.

Andrew grew up in a farming family in Southern Illinois and was raised to appreciate the value of work ethic, trust, and family. His father has worked in public accounting for over 30 years, so Andrew naturally followed in his footsteps after growing up around tax planning and business talk. Andrew looks forward to helping guide clients through their financial journeys, utilizing his CPA background to identify opportunities and navigate decisions in tax-efficient ways. He enjoys spending time with his wife Caitlyn and their son Beckham, and he enjoys playing golf, hunting, and watching the Dallas Cowboys.

Andrew earned Bachelor of Science and Masters of Science degrees in Accountancy from Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville (SIUE). Andrew is an Investment Adviser Representative and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) professional.

At Detalus, Kaitlynn focuses on identifying and implementing client-centric solutions for current and prospective clients. She assists with the new client onboarding process, from both an internal and client-facing perspective. In addition to her daily data management and transactional responsibilities, Kaitlynn coordinates trade facilitation, reporting, billing, documentation, and overall data management for the firm.

Prior to joining Detalus in March 2023, Kaitlynn served as a Client Onboarding Specialist at Moneta beginning in 2021. She transitioned to the Client Service Manager role at Moneta in February 2022, providing client-facing opportunities. Before beginning in the financial services industry, Kaitlynn served as an Admission Counselor at Saint Louis University and as a Support Analyst at Bullhorn, a staffing software provider for recruiting agencies. She has extensive experience in working with local restaurants in nearly every role but the kitchen! Kaitlynn earned both a BS in Health Sciences and an MBA from Saint Louis University.

When asked about her favorite part of working at Detalus, Kaitlynn notes, ‘The team! Everyone takes the job seriously, but the environment is still friendly and relaxed.’ She enjoys creating an experience that ensures clients feel cared for and “in the know” about the services they receive.

Kaitlynn and her husband Alex Henry married in 2022 and live in the LaSalle Park neighborhood in St. Louis City. The bulk of Kaitlynn’s time outside of the office is spent taste testing for and consulting on Alex’s restaurants, specifically with regards to menu changes, dining room décor, and marketing.
